WATCH: Technology In The Classroom

When you walk into the Merit Prep charter school in Newark, NJ, the first thing you notice is that almost every student is working on a laptop — and most are wearing headphones. Students may seem like they’re in their own world, but they’re not. They’re in a digital environment that was carefully crafted to instruct and entertain. The computer programs in Newark may look like cartoons and video games, but in the world of education they could be a game changer.
