WATCH: Teacher Power!

Public school teachers are leaving the profession like never before - more than 200,000 every year. Many say they’re fed up with being disrespected and dictated to by administrators. But some teachers are fighting back by running schools themselves. John Tulenko visited one of these “teacher-led” schools, Mission Hill School in Boston, to find out how it works.

Wonder whether John Tulenko (and his colleagues) know about the Sudbury Valley School in suburban Bostn where for nearly 50 years students and staff together make ALL the decisions that keep the school running. A school that has demonstrated its ability to continue in operation over several generations AND yield alums and graduates who succesfully take their places in the larger world of adults and wage earners and entrpreneurs and artists and professionals. Give it a look at
