WATCH: A "Springboard" to Reading Success?

Educators call it the “Summer Slide” - when some kids from low-income families forget reading skills learned during the school year. The typical solution is more of the same: longer school days and summer school.

But what if there was another way? “Springboard Collaborative” is a summer program that creates an unusual partnership between teachers and parents to help kids read.
