WATCH: Opt Out Movement

This month about 15 million students are scheduled to take the first round of the Common Core nationalized tests. Across the country - and political spectrum - a strong rebellion has emerged with one unified message: students must refuse to take these tests. If the numbers are significant, the Common Core itself could be in jeopardy.

John Merrow reports from Newark, New Jersey.

Thank you for this piece. We do not want a national school board! I’m grateful for involved parents and students who recognize CC is not about learning.

Thank you for this presentation regarding Common Core and Testing. The young student articulated the negatives effectively. The goal of providing better education is laudable, but the “change everything nationwide” approach is as detrimental in schooling as it is in healthcare.
