WATCH: How Media Literacy Can Help Students Discern Fake News

In today’s world, where fabricated news stories are often presented as legitimate, media literacy is more important than ever. Studies have found that students often have difficulty judging online information, but many educators across the country are trying to fix this. In Washington state, media literacy advocates and legislators are working together to create curriculum to create digitally literate citizens. In this PBS NewsHour segment, Education Week correspondent Kavitha Cardoza reports on the issue.
