Parke Land is facing the biggest challenge of his career. After 31 years as a principal in some of Virginia’s top performing suburban public high schools, Land has moved to the inner city to try his hand at ‘turning around’ a struggling middle school.
Among the hottest new ideas in education, the program aims to fix failing schools by recruiting experienced principals, training them to think like CEO’s, and moving them to schools stuck at the bottom. I commend Parke Land on his new assignment! I truly hope he is able to make a difference at the school.
I am, however, curious about the legal end of touching a student. I hope he doesn’t find himself in trouble even though his intentions are obviously good!
